Who was your favorite hologram(s)/holographic series?

"Our Man Bashir" was a lot of fun.

 

My top three would be Data´s poker table, Leonardo Da Vinci's workshop, and Fair Haven.

 

Where's the Doctor's family from Real Life?

 

Can I pick simply "the EMH".

I also really enjoyed on TNG where Data is trying to learn "comedy" from that old comedian in that one episode.

Of course I have to love Sandrine's.

 

^I was avoiding EMH's. This was focused on everyone else.

Missed that one but I think he discontinued it anyway (or simply stopped loading it) after what happened.

 

Oh damn I forgot to vote for this one. I love his secret agent program. But I have to say, that was probably mostly because of Garak in the episode.

 

I protest the exclusion of Vulcan Love Slave in this poll.

Secret agent bashir seemed like a pretty fun program, right next to vic fontaine. Vic was a really deep holodeck character and arguably even sentient. (almost the same argument if the doctor is sentient) He also got quite a bit of screen time, even a whole episode on him and Nog.

Dixon Hill for the win!!

Only dude who realized how easy the Borg are to defeat; projectiles.

 

^Dixon Hill is the only hologram up there that was in a movie.

That's why "Tuvok's Emergency Pon Farr program" is up there. It's the... traditional way of saying it.

 

Dixon Hill as used in the first couple seasons of TNG.

 

Paris playing holopimp, while noteworthy, wasn't Vulcan Love Slave with three separate volumes.

Julian Bashir, Secret Agent: Particularly liked the view out the round window when they were on a mountain top.

Vic Fontaine: Oh I loathed this my first DS9 watch but it grew on me big time. I particularly like Rom's use of it.

The EMH's Holonovel: Parody! Bitchiness! Grandiose out the wazoo! Pure comedy.

Captain Proton: Queen Arachnia. 'nuff said.

Nazi Program from The Killing Game: The costumes! JANEWAY IN A WHITE TUX! 7 as her beautiful femme partner.. everyone looks beautiful and interesting in The Killing Game.

As to Fair Haven I love the Janeway makes a man storyline but I can't vote for it because quaint bucolic Irish villages are just eye rollingly awful.

 

And sadly, we never saw the Vulcan Love Slave program.

btw was it really called "the Ancient West"? Not the old west?

 

I picked the Minuet program, Barcley's programs and Bashier's secret agent program, since they seem the ones where I could have the most amount of fun.

However, the only time I really liked the holodeck as a plot device was when it was used more as a tool to help them solve a problem, like on the episode "Identity Crisis" where Geordi was trying to figure out what was going on through the simulations, or Booby Trap when he used the starship design office simulation.

 

It's a common Trek theme to constantly use the word ancient to remind us dumb people in the audience it's the future. I mean the space ships and stuff isn't enough.
