There's always the possibility they could have sound another loyal queen, or as long as they are able to keep finding willing hosts, there shouldn't be a reason any more that they would be dying out.
Much better than AoT and enough popcorn munching fun to make it enjoyable. Although before they started filming I remember reading an article saying that they were going to bring back a bunch of characters we hadn't seen in a while which got people wondering if Jonas was coming back. Aside from Hammond, Siler and Major Davis (poor guy needs a promotion) there really wasn't anyone else. This would have been a great opportunity to give cameos to Janet Fraiser, Mayborne, Kowalsky, Pete, Kinsey. Hell they could have even stuck Shepard in there as one of the F-15 escort pilots.
What about the System Lords that were brought back? http://www.gateworld.net/gallery/displayimage.php?album=4&pos=54
Very Good, but not great. Would have been better if we had another hour and more of Mrs. Heather. Yummy mummy. Well, I kid. I absolutely LOVED seeing all the old System Lords back. And it was great to see Hammond and Jack again. Carter's moment of weakness after Jack's death was a nice touch. Also, loved seing the Tokra again (and they sing Baal's crimes! ). Cliff Simmon was in top-form as Baal. Pity he's dead. It is sci-fi though, so who knows if he's truly dead. Overall, the plot was a little scattered but it was nice seeing SG-1 again.
^^ Hayes, check. Walter though is more of a staple. The show would have been weird if he didn't make an appearance.
I liked it. I watched the movie, then I watched the movie with the commentary track, then the special features. The Artic stuff was neat and the military cooperation they got pumped up the Artic scenes and the F-15 fight. I wish there had been more Ba'al. It was SG-1 against the world instead of SG-1 vs Ba'al. Qetesh didn't really do anything for me. The ending with Vala going to help the Ba'al host was a little odd - set-up for more? I am not in favor of all the System Lords being destroyed. They were great villians. Who is going to challenge the Stargate teams now?
Serviceable...that's the best grade I can give it. Too much a two-part episode, and they WASTED their budget on needless location shooting.
I just got the DVD. I enjoyed it a lot. The plot moved at a perfect pace. The music was awesome. The dialogue was great. I actually can't really think of anything really bad about the movie. Baal was in top form. He has a great double entendre when he says to Apophis "Did you think of that on the way or was it off the top of her head?", as he decapitates Apophis. Whereas Ark of Truth was meant to resolve the Ori arc, this movie was a great end to the Goauld arc. Remember in the episode "Exodus", Jacob tells O'Neill that the Tokra have a plan to destroy all the Systems Lords. In Continuum, we see the Tokra wish finally come true, as they kill the last of the Systems Lords. So, all the major story arcs of the series have been wrapped up. But I definitely think there are some possibilities for another movie: - a brand new enemy from outside the galaxy. - Something related to the Ancients and the ascended beings. - an Atlantis crossover. - a "pilot" for the new show Stargate: Universe. - SG-1 makes first contact with the Furlings
I gave it a four. I finally got to see the movie and I really liked it, it was a big movie as big as they could make it with thet money they had and it was nice seeing all those familar faces one last time and the big tracking shot at the start of the movie was nicely filmed and we finally gotto see that gimble set used in Trio. The visual effects were awesome too. I also liked the various character moments in the "one year later" scenes that's something we rarely got to see on the TV show because of the speed of storytelling. All in all it was the sort of action adventure storyline that Stargate SG1 is best known for.
Above Average. Ba'al didn't kill Ra. Ra was there in the movie. Though I had no idea myself until I saw his name in the credits. I guess he was the (former) system lord on the very left, the one I didn't immediately recognize.
^^ I gather he wasn't played by the same guy who was in the movie, but was it at least the same actor who was in Moebius?
Was that even the original actor? IMDB apparently says so, but he sure didn't look like the original.
