Production began today (and release is just under a year away, 26th July 2013) and there's a vid from the set at this link: http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=93094
Picture of a bearded Hugh (with Wolvie hair) meeting the mayor of a town where the movie is shooting: http://static.lifeislocal.com.au/multimedia/images/full/2037990.jpg And here he is in what might be considered a spoilerish shot: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/en...ish-pec-in-order/story-e6frewz0-1226441768199 More spoiler-ish shots below: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbi...ns-filming-X-Men-sequel-Wolverine-Sydney.html
I'm excited that filming has finally begun. It's felt like The Wolverine has been languishing in pre-production hell for so long.
Nope. That was the original plan though. I've gone from being tremendously excited, to hesitant, to tremendously excited again. I can't wait for this.
New set photos. I get a "The Fountain" feel from Logan's long hair and beard http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/172123-new-photos-of-hugh-jackman-on-the-wolverine-set
Honestly, all they have to do is translate the mini series. If they deviate too much from that, I fear they're gonna' fuck it up. Even the opening of the series would be the best opening of any of the X-Men films if they translated it perfectly. *crosses fingers*
Was this miniseries ever collected as a Trade Paperback? I'm thinking about reading this storyline before the movie is released.
Thanks. So the title of the miniseries is called 'Wolverine'? That is going to be a confusing title for some people to find. Couldn't they just have titled the TPB something like 'Wolverine in Japan'?
As mentioned prior Chris McQaurrie's original script has been re-written a couple of times since Mangold took over but I believe the director stated something like 83 percent of it remained intact, so it wasn't a major revision. I expect Mangold to remain faithful to the original direction but still put his mark on this film, especially with Jackman being so hands on with this from the get go.
It was originally just a limited series. Wolverine didn't get a regular monthly series until a few years later.
I'm the proud owner of the entire limited series, first editions, in mint condition. They're kind of my pride and joy.
