Well, I got some nice flowers from a non-anonymous admirer, but otherwise I may soon be posting in the "Have You Ever Been Stood Up" Thread.

And after I opened myself up so completely.... :(

It's the other way around for me, RJ. No flowers, but I made a new friend. :) Some PMing with Gaseous Anomaly revealed a few things we have in common:

-We've both been with our respective partners for over 20 years.

-We're both animal lovers. GA has 3 cats, and I have a cat, a dog, 4 rats and 2 guinea pigs.

-We're in agreement that the 70s and 80s were the best eras for Saturday Night Live, and we're both SCTV fans.

-We share a dislike of reality TV, talk shows and soaps.

-We're unable to relate to music which came out after the mid-90s. This may or may not have to do with, erm, chronological maturity. :shifty:

-I'm married to a trainspotter, and GA is an aircraft mechanic. Okay, that's not quite the same thing, but close enough. :p

-We both like the outdoors and going hiking.

-I'm a keen needlecrafter, mostly knitting. GA is handy with a sewing machine, which is my worst needlecraft, but it's still something to share.

-We both yell at politicians on TV.

-I like cooking, and GA likes eating what's been cooked. That's good enough for me. ;)

Your cat made a good choice, Kestra!

For the sake of keeping things together, can we please post our lists of things in common over in the match-up thread? This one is fine for people to discuss the PMs they got, though, if they want. ;)

Whoops, sorry about that! A mere two threads, and I still get it wrong. Shall I copy and paste it to the other thread?

I just wanted to express my gratitude to Rob and Kes for setting this all up. I've been indifferent to Valentine's Day all my life but due to the match-up and the flower thingie I've been pretty busy for the first time. It was fun looking for pics that could serve as virtual Valentine's greetings to the people I meant to send something to (I hope the others don't feel bad, I'll try to include more people next time). I was pleasantly surprised about my anonymous admirers and the match-up thing was fun, too, and has created a very good basis for further PM exchanges. So, thanks, the two of you!

Not a problem at all. We were happy to do this and liven things up a bit. :)

Again, thanks for the flowers. The nude pics were unexpected, but the check was greatly appreciated! ;)

I wanted to say thanks to the poster who sent me white flowers. They were particularly meaningful because yesterday, I was sent home from work sick with the flu and feeling awful. I checked into TBBS and their surprise arrival brought a smile to my face. Thank you so very much. I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day. :adore: :)
