What an amazing shot! We have a hummingbird that frequents our balcony feeder, but she is gone in the amount of time it takes me to call out "hey, she's back!" to Hubby. I'll never be able to get a shot like this! Well done!
^ The bird on the right is probably like "YO! Down in FRONT! Usin' up my FRUIT JUICE, buddy! Move it ALONG!"
It isn't rare to see a handfull of them on the feeder at once. The males get a bit feisty with each other, but the females tend to be pretty live-and-let-live. Between the two feeders out there I've seen nearly a dozen at a time flitting about while I enjoy a drink out on the porch.
This is what happens when my roommate and I play Scrabble and drink wine in our pajamas. I get sloshed:
You're adorable when you're tanked out of your gourd. Likin' the highlights. Can you get triple word score for ”cirrhosis”?
I just have 2 plants each, my garden right now is a test to see what grows well, but I plan to make some hot sauce with what I've got
The whole family attended a corporate BBQ today at Pratt Falls, a beautiful state park up here in Syracuse. Here are two pics of the falls…
Lovely indeed!! Me and my sis made a cake for my other sis. And then some nature! (there are a lot.. so i put the rest of them in a spoiler thingy so they wont get annoying :P) Spoiler: Nature
I picked these peppers today... These are Big Jim's, similar to Anaheims. These suckers can get to be a foot long. The biggest I've had is about 7-8 inches. There's tons more still growing. I'm sure I've picked well over a hundred this summer. Many have been frozen, but others I use to make chile rellenos. They're great for stuffing when they get big...not quite as tasty as the traditional poblanos, but Mom has had no luck growing those! The last flowers are blooming... Butterflies... And some kind of pumpkin.
