Think of how long a sequel to Tron was in the offing.

This looks promising for the Logan's Run remake...

In August 2007, the project was reinvigorated with Joseph Kosinski hired as the new director and a new script being written by screenwriter Timothy J. Sexton. Kosinski had made a presentation to Warner Bros. including graphic art and animated previsualization that illustrated his plan for the film, whose low budget appealed to the studio. Currently, the remake is scheduled for a 2012 release date, and is being directed by Kosinski and produced by Silver Pictures.

More news on the Black Hole Remake (it is a remake, btw, not a sequel)...here's where the mind is at on the concept...

I like that they are going more seriously science fiction, keeping Maximillian and keeping the way Anthony Perkin's character died. That scene fucked me up as a kid.

Between this and OUTLAND, d'ye think THE ICE PIRATES is next on the 'was shit-then, will-still-be-shit-now' remake list?

At least call it RIDE THE SINGULARITY COUNTRY or CRITICAL ORBIT, to get the 'stench of 12/1979' away from it.
