Meh. The Ferengi's in the right, this time, brother. ;)

Still, as I've often pointed out, Ferenginar's actually got big government oversight, as the FCA would tell you, with their by-laws--or the Nagus, who hands out opportunites like synthehol in the Gamma Quadrant. Or the standard Ferengi contract....

Nonetheless...Quark was on to something, noting how the income tax goes against the spirit of free enterprise. One wonders if it was Ishka's idea, or the Congress of Economic Meddlers and their desire to mold the favors system their way.

There's nothing wrong with acquiring profit.

Look, I don't know how you people live, but all of us corporeal,
linear whatever's have certain things in common,
and one of those things is the need to improve ourselves.

    Our ambition
to improve ourselves motivates everything we do.

    Without ambition
without, dare I say it, greed, people would lie around all day doing nothing.
    They wouldn't work,
    they wouldn't bathe,
    they wouldn't even eat.
    They'd starve to death.

    Is that what you want?

I didn't know that even a Ferengi would go as far as to let themselves be assimilated for profit.

^There's no profit in it. Borg always struck me as a kind of satire on Communism. Collectivism's only profitable if you're the boss--namely, the Queen. The bourgeoisie are the first to get rounded up and shot....

So...no Ferengi Borg. They'd rather die than be Borg. Borg are all broke. :)

I'm sure the former kings and queens of the Soviet Union would like to have a word with you about different political systems.

^Mm-hmm! And he constantly had the look of a kindly gentleman--far from the look of a Ferengi even at one's most charming....

As I recall...the kings and queens were routed out by the White Revolution. The Reds--the Soviets--then had a revolution of their own and routed out the "Ferengi".

So...I'm not sure what your point is, madam.

The Borg Queen would be comparable to the General Secretary/Comrade Premier. Lenin, Stalin, you get the idea.
