I'm reading StarTrek TNG Rogue Saucer by John Vornholt this is a fast paced read more enjoyable than plodding through books one and two A time to be born and a Time to die by John Vornholt I read a few weeks ago.

TNG #42 Infiltrator by W.R. Thompson. Pretty good book for one of the numbered novels. This one revisits the geneticically enhanced humans concept in Star Trek.

Liked the first story in the The King in Yellow well enough, but I'm struggling through the others. I'm going to pause it for now and start up on Indistinguishable from Magic.

 

Whispers Under Ground by Ben Aaronovitch - like the previous two books in the PC Peter Grant Series it's a fun read.

Pagan Lord by Bernard Cornwell. Historical fiction set in the 9th Century.

 

"No Time Like the Past" - Greg Cox

 

I'm interested to hear what you think -- I've never been able to get past the first few pages, but since it's such a major influence on Marion Zimmer Bradley's Darkover series, I feel like I should read it.

((In case you don't know, Marion's earliest proto-Darkover stories were fanfics of Chambers' novel.))

 

Started Vanguard: Storming Heaven earlier today. Can't believe it's almost over.

 

Perfect Escape by Jennifer Brown.

 

Its a real page-turner. When I read that one, I intended to sit in Starbucks with a coffee and read a couple of chapters, and finally emerged a few hours later having read the whole thing!

 

I read the Vanguard series faster than any other Trek books. It is a testament to the great writing and plot lines I wish I could read it all over again for the first time.

 

I'm with you guys. At least we'll be getting Seekers this summer

 

I am about 60 pages into Captain's Peril by William Shatner. (Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens) I just read about 40 pages about orbital skydiving while trying to stay awake. Hoping this one picks up soon.

 

I blasted through The Martian by Andy Weir the other day, his debut novel. It tells the tale of a NASA astronaut who gets left behind on Mars after a botched mission abort, and subsequently has to Robinson Crusoe it as well as MacGyver himself out of the situation. I enjoy survival tales, Mars fiction and realistic depictions of spaceflight technology, so it was a blast to read. It's a real page-turner. The pitch is "Apollo 13 meets Castaway", and that's accurate.

 

I bought Sandman today and will check it out this weekend. Thanks for the tip

Started Lord of the World by Robert Hugh Benson. Interesting to see what someone more than a century ago thought the future would turn out like.
