The old 22" monitor died finally. Had problems with it some time ago and had to rebuild it at the time; but, I don't think saving it is gonna work this time round. On the up side, Just went full time at Chrysler, working in the trades area as a pre-setter. So, I went out today and picked up a replacement. 24" for the time being. They were out of stock on the bigger ones and I actually need several new monitors as I actually had 3 22" sony trinitrons die on me in the last year. So, looking to order a 27-32 inch for the primary very soon and am debating on the sizes of the others. We'll see. Gonna be a fun weekend.
Oh, no. Got the replacement. Installed and been gawking at everything under the sun on it so far. Stunned at the size and how much more I can see with the larger view area. Still going to buy another one; but, I'm up and running now
Pretty well and gettin better every day, bud Just went FT at Chrysler and was placed in trades as a tool pre-setter. Going to be able to afford that Max upgrade before long as well as ongoing equipment upgrades. Smiling a lot these days.
Still loving your work... Just one little thing I noticed... Thought I should mention it... Tiny little difference with FJ The Deck 2 aft stairways go down towards the bow and it looks as though you have them going down towards the stern... What d'ya think?
This being 34 pages long so far, I'm not surprised you didn't read the whole thread, but I believe he actually made it himself by modeling engraved letters and is piecing them together. Check it out on page 29 and 30. It's actually pretty cool. --Alex
Thank you for pointing it out. I'll have a look at the plans and what I did. It's quite possible I did reverse them and didn't realize it. Easy fix if I did. Again, thank you
Thank you. I found out that the graphics card I had wasn't pushing the monitor properly though. Had to wait to do another upgrade; but, done now. I added a pair of Nvidia GTX560Ti cards to the mix and jumped to twin LG 27" monitors. The 24 is now a secondary monitor on my primary machine.. for the moment.
This seems to have been asked and answered already; but, there's something I would add. Back in the 60s and 70s these plaques were a big thing and generally new. A machine was created to cut letters into them. And the machine was programmed with this font. To my knowledge, the font was never copied or ported for the pc. So, to get it, you pretty much have to make it from scratch as I did. Hope that adds a little more clarity. Thanks
Been working on doing a lot of upgrading. Been through a number of schedule changes in the last few months. But I'm back to working one job again instead of two. And back to working the build with a little more regularity. Reimported and realigned decks 3 & 4. Did some tweaking. And started work on plumbing equipment. That's the water pump I'm currently working on. There's a ton of this that will be incorporated into all the decks; but, especially on deck 4. So, might as well get on it.
This is going to be part of the main water supply feed from deck 4. Got a bit of work left to finish; but, it's about there.
Still have details to add; but, this is essentially what the finished product will look like. Very happy with them so far.
