This has been a horrible, horrible August, weatherwise, for our area. Usually, these dog days of August are very hot, often humid, and are perfect for swimming. Hopefully, next year will be back to normal.
The Pride of Baltimore II firing her cannon as she passes Fort McHenry (not quite as sharp as it should be, but oh well): Hibiscus: And copies of one of the gargoyles at the National Cathedral in Washington, DC
Those are great shots, Tora Ziyal! I love tall ships, and the plume of smoke you captured is just perfect. And Darth Gargoyle is hilarious!
Thank you! I've just been reading... Darth is actually a grotesque, not a gargoyle. No water spout. All gargoyles are grotesques, but not all grotesques are gargoyles. (I'll bet that's more than anyone wanted to know about that subject! )
I was just considering posting something to that effect, but couldn't decide if it would be considered rude of me or just very anal retentive of me...
Nice! And your sig is quite apropos. BTW, what software do you use to create your watermark? I'm looking for something simple and inexpensive, if not free. ETA: for Apple
Thanks for trying, but sorry... I forgot to specify "for Apple". And, btw, I wouldn't have thought it rude if you'd corrected me on Darth Grotesque.
Thanks Tora Ziyal! I use Photoshop CS5, but all I am doing is adjusting the transparency of the text. It's a pretty simple feature, though ... I'd be surprised if it wasn't available in some free programs. I've heard that GIMP is pretty good (and free, I believe), but I haven't tried it to be able to properly recommend it (or know, for a fact, that you can do transparency with it - though, I imagine you can).
Oh. I actually wouldn't have thought either option. I would've just been embarrassed that I hadn't caught my own mistake.
We traded in our 2007 Honda Fit, with only 47,500 miles on it for a 2014 Honda CR-V. Old Car New Car Had an amazing time with our dealership and our salesman. You usually dread buying a car, I know I do. However everything was great. They offered us full Bluebook value on the car, which I've never have happen before. We also didn't have to negotiate on the price what so ever, after doing tons of research and finding what would be Fair Market Price. Our salesman told us the price of the car, it was the exact Fair Market Price. We did the test-drive on Saturday and all the paperwork. We were away for vacation for a few days and took delivery this morning. This is the best car buying experience we have ever had.
^Fantastic shot, looks in deep thought! Went to Opera by the Castle, with mum, today. The first half of the first set almost drowned:
