Went to a festival downtown the other day. Found this random band playing horns in the street.

Found this pic on one of our cameras. It's a zoomed in shot of the Toronto skyline taken from the balcony of my dad's old condo in Oakville, west of Toronto. According to Google Maps the distance between the condo and the CN Tower is 44.4 km, though it is, of course, not that far as the crow flies across the lake. I took this shot last November when I was at the condo for my dad's funeral. The condo was sold and the new owners moved in two months ago. It feels strange knowing I'll never see this view again. I'm going to miss it. It was spectacular on a clear day. Shame about the spot on the lens.

Brilliant sunset, Saga! And that's a vibrant photo, RojoHen, Love it.

macloudt, that's a fantastic shot ... and I know exactly what you mean about taking one last shot of where your father once lived. I took one the day after my father passed away and my mother has since sold the place ... needless to say, there are a whole lot of emotions wrapped up in it (see below):

But with that in mind (and I hope you don't mind), but I took the liberty of getting rid of your lens spot (and straightened the horizon and increased the contrast slightly):

Just let me know when you're ready for me to take down the photo.

Here's the one after my father passed:

Ah that white stuff, so far away. Thankfully. That's a frozen lake right?

This is the beautiful Brian Molko from Placebo. Saw him in Feb.

teacake, that's the St. Lawrence River which connects the Great Lakes of Canada and the United States to the Atlantic Ocean. The view is from New York, looking across to Ontario, Canada.

Thank you! My rusty old MacBook doesn't have any kind of photo fixer-upper programs on it. I knew someone would work magic with it. *steals*

Beautiful. While on the whole I don't miss Canadian winters I do miss the beauty of the sun on snow. I was born in Montreal and love the St. Lawrence River as much as the Great Lakes. I could never live away from water (I currently live on the River Exe close to the Exe Estuary).

I love these. I really need to start getting out in the city with my camera.

I'm still sifting through my shots from my trip to DC, but here are a few.

Thanks, SD! You definitely should get some night time shots ... just ... be careful out there! ;)

Your DC shots are great. I love the framing of the middle one, and the last one is just too cute!

Quick question, I've been growing my beard, affectionately known in the family as "the ferret after a junior year highschool incident, since last October. It's had a few trims here and there just to straighten it up, but largely left to grow.

Anyway, I'm starting to question its continued existence. What do you all think, keep or shave?
