It's only 17 seconds long but I think it's beautiful...

Yeah, it's by The Light Works, that's his company AFAIK.

It helps that DS9 itself is just stunning to look at, all the intricate detail on it would just look amazing given the full HD treatment.

Wouldn't it, though. I've watched this short clip a few times now and can't get enough of the details - both of DS9 and the Runabout. The detail of seeing inside the ship from the rear windows is very cool. There is something new to see each time.

I believe that video is posted somewhere in the bluray thread, or if not as a separate post several months ago. But it's worth posting every week as far as I'm concerned! :)

He did other DS9 clips too:

Great SFX; it reminded me that that runabout with the rollbar is one of the upcoming issues of the Star Trek starships model collection.

    God, they're almost pornographic!

Why won't the PTB give us HD-DS9?!?!?!?!?

Holy geeze, that is some *crisp* work right there.

And it's also given me a newfound appreciation for the station. Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but I never got so attached to the station like I did with the ships of the show. But it's rendered so well here with such respect and reverence that I can't help but reconsider.

I'm starting to think we need to do a campaign video for DS9-HD, with Vic Fontaine singing "I'll Be Seeing You" over black cards of quotes about "no plans" combined with HD render footage like this and some fuzzy stuff off the DVDs, really go for the heartstrings.

After all the Bring Back Kirk trailer has always been good for a laugh!
