I seriously doubt they'd build it inside a basement of a construction site, out in the open.

Why the hell would they build a spaceship on the planet's surface?

The Essential Guide to Droids references this, saying that the versatility of the R2 model makes it the only "vintage" astromech design still in production alongside more modern units like the R6 and R7.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I saw a picture on one of the sites I go to that showed it inside somewhere. I'm pretty sure the one of it outside is fake.

Oh, yeah, the outdoor construction photo is a fake. It's a very neat-looking and interesting photographic fake for what it's worth.

Gosh you're right. It is pretty fucking stupid to build an even larger starship on earth in Iowa. ;)

Ming the merciless. EXCELLENT. And quite a surprise. I do hope he's playing a baddie.

Great news! And perhaps best of all, Peter Mayhew's back as Chewie. There were some doubts about his participation thanks to his mobility and other health concerns in recent years, so it's good to have the Big Walking Carpet back where he belongs alongside his classic castmates.
