Oh, it's a Kiwi show that Syfy show in the UK, I think I read they're remaking it for the US. It's about the Johnson family who are the current incarnation of the Norse Gods who are living in New Zealand, the decedents of the original Norse immigrants. They have a prophecy to fulfill but other gods and goddesses aren't fond of them. It's 2 seasons so far and apparently was cancelled but brought back for a third season after a fan campaign.
I think it would have to be edited to be shown there, so they're more likely to remake it I would think.
I'll miss Gary, but after looking up the show it looked like its ratings weren't that great (for Syfy, anyway). Too bad, I was interested to see how they were going to resolve that cliffhanger.
The Almighty Johnsons is eying a pickup.... http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/hel...ons-heat-up-at-syfy-as-network-nears-pickups/ Why not just take the original? Sy-fy will cancel it anyways.
Because they would have to edit it because there's at least one case of nudity I can think of and swearing and American's may not understand the Kiwi accents and slang, would be my thought.
I know you're thinking less of typical Americans than you are belittling how my kind sound and what we say, but has anyone here ever had the slightest of amount of difficulty understanding me?
They're not kind. There's a reason the Federation Council turned New Zealand into a Penal Colony to dump it's worst examples of criminal scum.
I've seen Lifeforce on regular TV with all nudity cut so anything is possible. Are the Kiwi accents more impenetrable than British ones? Syfy US has shown Doctor Who, Sarah Jane, Merlin and Primeval off the top of my head. And for one day only they aired that K9 series.
Yeah Syfy has shown Doctor Who and some spinoffs before, all edited for commercials. Just edit things out. How much nudity does it have? Just topless or would we be getting cunt and cock?
I think topless, bare arse, full frontal male though with his hand covering his cock. Are what I can remember. Swearing too. I'm not saying they shouldn't show the original, just that those are the reasons I can think of why they wouldn't.
Can't they do both? I'm not sure which would be a better primer for the other? Last year was weird both the Being Humans were airing on top of each other on disparate sides of the planet yet I was mashing all the characters and storylines delightfully together in my head.
Well, Sciffy has been airing Lost Girl, which pushed its little boundaries for sex and vocabulary. Other basic cable channels have gone further than that. So who knows?
