^Jon Rauch has always been a phony, dating back to his days with the White Sox.

Phillies Club President says he is happy when his General Manager makes correct decisions only 30% of the time

Even odds someone will scoop him up and he'll probably post 20 saves the rest of the season. Amazing how players always do better when they have to sign a contract in the off season.

It's amazing how a lot of ex-Cubs do well somewhere else, though I'm not sure Marmol will be one of them.

Maybe there's a pitching coach somewhere that can have a positive effect on him.

The Jays winning streak snapped at 11. It wasn't a horrible game and I'm glad they didn't get blown out.

^Nice to see them playing well. When is Reyes due back?

He's in the dugout tonight, but not playing. Tomorrow maybe?

I didn't even realize he was that close. I thought maybe another week or two. Wow!

It's technically a DFA. They did outright release Ian Stewart.

Well, being DFA'd is just a less-harsh way of a player being told he's been released (since Marmol can and will refuse assignment to AAA, and no one will trade for him).

I dunno, isn't his salary still owed if he clears waivers and is sent to AAA?

Only if the Cubs keep him on the 40-man roster after sending him to the minors (which is not going to happen).

I really do hope the Pirates can keep up this pace through the second half of the season. They are pretty fun to watch, and right now better to watch than the Giants who are struggling to even hit the ball.

    Sorta becoming an annual event?

And this is the guy the Jays sent to the minors...

Toronto fans are calling for the trade of Lawrie, Bonifacio, anyone, to bring this guy into the fold on a permanent basis. He has taken the city by storm and it's hard not to love him.

^ What is it with that? First Gary Carter, now Daulton.

Fuck it...both my favorite teams decided to blow leads, and lose, last night? :brickwall:

Nice rainbow above Camden Yards though.
