Ordered a couple of cable management solutions on Amazon and a couple of replacement cables for my PC build that are a little less messy and conspicuous.
Annoyance. I just received an email saying that the Hound figure that I bought and paid for 8 days ago is out of stock and that the money has been refunded to me. I am a little disappointed because I thought it would arrive this week. Pretty poorly run business if it takes more than a week before they even try to fulfil the order. I have reordered it through another seller at a slightly higher price.
I've had that happy too many times to count (or at least remember). The mail truck just drove by without having dropped off my UFP pin. Checked the tracking, and although it was in the main Post Office last night, it didn't leave there to bring it to my local Post Office until 8:43 this morning. Tracking still says it'll be delivered today by 9 pm, but I doubt I'll get it until tomorrow now.
My postmen are fantastic. I can sometimes get two deliveries a day - bigger parcels via the postal van and smaller parcels and letters via the postman on a motor bike. The van postman is a really nice guy. If there too many small parcels/letters to fit in my mailbox the postman on the motorbike will bring them to my door. It has been at least two years since I have had to pick up a parcel from my post office.
I was able to pick up two shelf brackets, a latch, a small door pull, some cat goop (hairball remedy) and a few bolts and nuts. Best of all, I was able to do it with someone else's money!
March National Geographic, a Harry Potter Lego magazine, Lego Movie 2 Lego set, the one with the banana. A crusty loaf, tins of soup, and a pot noodle.
Cable raceway and a six-pack of straight 24-inch SATA cables to replace the right-angle cables I currently have hooked up to my hard drives.
Battle of the Bastards pops. Methinks that the Jon Snow pop is too clean, he should have blood splatter all over him.
Ouch. It’s hard to begrudge a pet some necessary treatment, but it don’t half sting in the wonga sack. I’ve got £600 I need to prise from my wallet for a childcare bill. I think I’ll need a crow bar.
‘Down Below’ by Leonora Carrington. Leonora was a British born surrealist artist who lived most of her life in Mexico. This book is about her time in a Spanish mental asylum due to her having a psychotic breakdown after she was forced to flee France in 1940 after her lover, Max Ernst, was arrested by the Nazis. I have previous read her only novel (The Hearing Trumpet) , and I am 80% through her complete short stories and I have also read a biography about her. She was a interesting woman whose artwork deserves to be better known than it is.
I fear the cost every time I have to take my cat to the vet. I will have another $290 to pay on Thursday as my cat has to have blood and urine test for thyroid problems. I did not have enough to pay for them when I took him for his checkup/vaccinations on Tuesday. At least I will not be charged for a consultation on Thursday, only the tests.
