It could be worse. They could have John Barroman sing it.

Actually if they hire Burial to do the dubstep version, that's fine with me.

Can't wait to hear and see it - it's kind of all like a mini relaunch.

I love the McCoy theme tune but then that was my first experience with Who.

How about this version for the new one:

It's funnier but it would be a terrible theme tune.

If that's true, fantastic! However, I am very curious to see how new fans (ranging all the way back to '05) will react. They've never seen such a thing and they might freak out.

Yep. From the GB thread on this:
The titles are colourful and resemble a trip through space with planets and asteroids. The Doctor's face is a formation that flies towards the camera, it's static, subtle and opaque. Before this the cast names appear like before and in the usual font. The title font is the same without the spinning TARDIS though one does fly past the camera. Finally the sequence ends just like the intro on all the Classic series DVDs.

You know, I was also hoping for Super Friends style star swipes, like there were in the credit sequences starting with Tom Baker's last year and throughout Peter Davison's run and Colin Baker's run. I always thought that was cool.

I liked the TARDIS/DW part of the logo, I'll be sorry to see that go, but the return of "the face" will be cool.

Is it just me or does anyone else find it strange that posters are using spoiler code for theme music/titles?

Cripes, it's like all the crappy details from old Who are coming back. The ridiculous face in the credits, the boring and sterile control room.

    What the hell, Moffat?

I like it, I grew up watching Classic Who on PBS. So for me it's like returning to Friday night and waiting for Peter Davision or Tom Baker to show up. Probably cause of the 50th they're rolling everything back.

You know what, there's not a real nice way to put this, so I'll just say it: We've had 7 years of your way. It's been fun; it's been nice; many of us, including myself have been okay with it - but now, it's "our" time - those of us who like a more clinical control room; those of us who kinda miss the face in the credits. You've had your time; and we stepped aside; now step aside and let us have our time, please.
