It looks cool, but I don't know if I'd go to see this one in theaters. The story doesn't grab me.

Edge Of Tomorrow looks cool, though I'm not sure that the trailer did a super effective job of explaining what the movie is about. If it's going to be Groundhog Day fighting in a war against aliens, we should have seen one or two shots repeated to drive that point home, shouldn't we? I'm looking forward to the movie though. Should be good.

As for Tom Cruise, he's given us some solid movies lately. I enjoyed MI Ghost Protocol and Jack Reacher and loved Oblivion. I'm expecting to like Edge Of Tomorrow too. We should consider ourselves lucky that Hollywood has not shut out Cruise the same way they've shunned Mel Gibson. Regardless of what you think of Cruise and Gibson as people, they usually give us great performances on the screen.

Unless they murder someone, I really try not to care about the personal lives of celebrities.

Edge of Tomorrow? I think my mom watched that soap in the 60s.

Oh, okay, I guess I need to pay closer attention the second time I watch the trailer, I don't recall the repeated scenes. Thanks.

The most notable ones were of him waking up each time he died. They also kind of mention it verbally. Which is, you know, how you know that it's a Groundhog Day sort of deal in the first place.

This also reminds me of a great short-lived series from a few years back called Day Break, starring Taye Diggs.

And I'd much rather watch a movie with Cruise than one with DiCrapio.

    A couple of things:

    The title sucks

The concept seems like Source Code meets Groundhog Day

The song at the end of the trailer is very similar to the song at the end of the Battle Los Angeles trailer. It may even be the same song. It certain "feels" the same.

Blunt is a super-tough woman. She sowed that side of her in Looper, where she was tougher than JGL, and again here.I can't believe its the same lady hiding behind a tree in fear in The Wolfman.

I wish I could be hyped for this, but I'm not.

    Actually, I'm exceedingly mellow.

Tom Cruise makes successful action movies, which encourages studios to make more action movies.

That's exactly what I thought. :rommie:

Yeah, the age difference jumped out at me, too.

Also, between the Mission series, Oblivion and this, Cruise seems to be drifting away from real world/realistic roles... except for Jack Reacher and Rock of Ages, where he just happened to play guys cut off from most of humanity. I'm not usually one to armchair psychoanalyze, but...

The original Japanese novel was actually written back in 2004 so the story predates Source Code by several years.

That is a looooong trailer. I hope the movie doesn't feel as long (what with its repetitive narrative). Otherwise, I'm interested enough to see this in theaters, despite my usual aversion to Cruise.
