are all our members from GB, NL and Northern Germany ok? According to the news 7 people were killed in Germany and 2 each in GB and NL :(

If you live in one of the countries the storm hit, please check in and let us know you're ok.

The latest number is 4 people killed in the UK...plus there' a 14 year old boy washed out to sea and it seems unlikely he’ll be found alive now :( I live in the Midlands and we got off lucky, the storm either lost most of its force or else changed direction and for the most part missed us.

A couple of trees down causing diversions, but no major effect for me thankfully.

When I first saw the thread I thought this was going to be about the blizzard in the Rockies.

We've been fine. Just got a little wet and windy in the weekend, but the last 2 days have been nice and sunny. Friends and family in England and Wales have been less fortunate.

What storm? Here in Bath it was a bit of rain and some wind and we've had blue skies the last two days.

I call bullshit. I spent a week in Bath and didn't see blue sky once.

    Do they require help?

According to the news there was considerable damage in Northern Germany. They still haven't finished tidying everything up but phone and internet ought to be working again. At least the flood didn't get as high as they expected. So, how about our Northern German members, particularly those from the coast? Intelligence? You ok, man? And how about the others? Wir machen uns langsam Sorgen - könnt ihr mal bitte ein Lebenszeichen geben?

Santaman reports that both he and Spaceball are ok.
How about our other Dutch members? Hoi, Nederlanders! Bent je ok? Waarschuwt ons hoe het met je staat!

A few roof-tiles in the street the morning after, some people without power for a few hours, train-time-tables wacky for the next couple of weeks... Afaik there was nothing unusual about the storm over the kingdom this fall.

But my cat sure didn't like it :p

They got the brunt of the weather but they're fine. Some structural damage in local buildings here and there, but all are safe and well.

wow, that looks really bad! :(

In Germany 8 were killed. At least 1 child among them. Most deaths could have been avoided if people had heeded the warnings :( here are pics from the damage in Germany.
