Wall-E's on my list. Kung Fu Panda is actually quite good, and worth seeing IMO. I haven't seen any Disney stuff in a long time, but I enjoyed it. Anyone seen The Strangers?
Kung Fu Panda is Dreamworks, not Disney. Personally I was bored. Most of the character were barely there, and basically the majority of the jokes weren't funny.
Iron Man: B Indiana Jones Kingodom of the Crystal Skull: C Haven't bothered to see anything else. I went ahead and spoiled Hancock for myself so I wouldn't bother with it. (at least one review all but said what the twist was.) Dark Knight might be it for me as far as paying real money to see a movie, unless I get nostalgic for The X-Files.
So far this season has been really good. Here's the rundown for me: Iron Man: A Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull: B+ The Incredible Hulk: B Get Smart: C (To clarify: I enjoyed the movie a lot, but it was not the Get Smart I know and love) Wall-E: A+ Hancock: C (Loved the first half, hated the second) Still looking forward to: Hellboy II, The Dark Knight, The Mummy III, Tropic Thunder, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince, Quantum of Solace
I finally saw an X-files and Mummy preview last night during Hells Kitchen. Given I barely know anything about these films, it's finale nice to see them previewed. I guess the theatrical trailers have come out but I've barely gone to the theaters so I couldn't say what movie they came out with.
I loved Ironman, greatly enjoyed Incredible Hulk and Sarah Marshall, and Hancock was close to being great but not quite. I'm planning on seeing Wall-E tomorrow, and after that the season is over for me except for Dark Knight. I MIGHT see the new Mummy if someone talks me into it, but probably not.
Been great! Have seen almost a movie a week. LOVED just about everything I saw even if it goes against popular opinion: Iron Man The Hulk Indy 4 Prince Caspian WALL-E Kung-fu Panda Wanted Did see Speed Racer, and didn't really enjoy it.
I've seen a mix of blockbusters and indie stuff. Iron Man: A The Fall: B Speed Racer: B- Redbelt: B+ Wanted: B+ Reprise: A I've been doing a good job skipping out on the bad movies, which is why I haven't seen The Happening or Indy 4.
So two people actually went out to see The Fall. I've never even heard of it. I'm reading up on it now and it looks interesting. The Fall
Wall-E- A+ Indiana Jones- B+ Get Smart-B You Don't Mess With the Zohan- B (hey, I thought it was funny! Will probably see Hancock this week....I also want to see Mamma Mia! and The Dark Knight.
I'm sure it's gone from the theaters by now. It must have lasted about a week...I got my butt to the local fancy schmancy "Sundance" movie theater the same week it opened, knowing how fast it would vanish. Very visually stunning but oddly enough, I liked the real-world story with Lee Pace and the little girl in the hosptial more. The rest was just window dressing. PS, Barbados Slim is the reason I even knew that movie existed. Thanks! :andorian:
^ When I saw Lee Pace's name, I figured that he might have been one of the reasons you went to see it. And yes, from the pictures, it does look like one of those 'visually stunning' type movies. The trivia bits are also pretty impressive. I've added this one to my "to see" list.
Oh absolutely, wonderful film! Starting in April (so not counting Cloverfield and The Counterfeiters) Forgetting Sarah Marshall: B Iron Man: A+ The Fall: A The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian: B Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: A Kung-Fu Panda: B The Incredible Hulk: A WALL-E: A+ Hancock: B So overall it's treated me very well! For the rest of the year (not just this summer)... The Wackness Hellboy 2: The Golden Army The Dark Knight The X-Files: I Want to Believe American Teen (maybe) Pineapple Express Tropic Thunder Star Wars: The Clone Wars (another maybe) Hamlet 2 (if I have spare money) W. Zack and Miri Make a Porno Quantum of Solace Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince The Day The Earth Stood Still The Curious Case of Benjamin Button 9
Iron Man - Pretty Good Hancock - Decent The Incredible Hulk - Decent Wall E - Semi Decent Indiana Jones - Crap Wanted - Crap The Happening - What's worse than crap? I've seen more than that (I've seen more movies this summer than I've seen in many years of my life combined, simply due to the woman I'm with), but those are the "big" ones.
I'm amazed that people don't realize this is a SUMMER movie question. The start of which is May(yes I know its still spring on the calendar) and that means Iron Man and any movie through Labor Day. Those are the dates Hollywood looks at as its "summer period". So Forgetting Sarah Marshall (while you may like it) is not a response to "How's the summer movie season going for you". Several have done that and sorry it just bugs me. I liked it too, its just not a summer movie.
