Issue seven did come out yesterday, and it was fairly interesting. I believe the solitics stated it was supposed take place close after the film's events and considering the villains revealed in the issue that seems to be the case. Kirk and Spock's relationship is starting to resemble the TOS version, the chess game was nice. Nice to see more of the crew as well. This has been better than I originally expected.
It is indeed May 2nd. It was originally scheduled for last Wednesday, but with the delay on #7, #8 got delayed. No date set for #9 yet, but likely the second week of June.
I don't see why they would delay Assimilation Squared either. The Star Trek/Legion of Superheroes crossover was right on schedule as far as I know. I expect the same for TNG/Doctor Who.
"Cupcake" has a surname! Mr Hendorff appears in the just-released "Vulcan's Vengeance", Part 2. Does that mean he's slated to die if the new comic does "The Apple"? http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Hendorff
Looks like issue 8 was delayed again. It wasn't out at my LCS, nor is it listed on mycomicshop.com. I figured maybe my store ran out of copies, but they told me it wasn't released. And since mycomicshop doesn't have it either, i guess it got delayed another week.
This series is just terrible. You're the ringleader of a group that was going to commit genocide, yet you're freed? And everyone else involved is punished... Really?
Yeah, I didn't buy that resolution either. I also found the implications of the Romulans keeping the plans to the Narada and the sample of red matter to be terrifying. Better to end the Romulans then and there than to let them get their hands on that weapon and use it against the Feds and the Klingons later on.
