While I'm in the basement building models, she's in her workroom building dollhouses. Here's her latest project, finally finished after two solid years of work: http://www.inpayne.com/dollhouse/dollhouse12.html
I was looking through some of the other doll houses on your site, she has a wonder sense of decor and color.
WOW. That is amazing. I looked around on there and saw the other houses, and they're great too. Just out of curiosity, does she have a preferred place to get her vegetation and the such? I have a diorama in mind and good sources are always helpful.
You wifes work is always amazing. I gotta wonder how you two found each other and if you two ever do try to help the other out?
We met in art school, appropriately enough . As for helping each other out, it usually takes the form of "do you have any 3/16 plastic tube? Our only actual collaboration was 20 years ago when we made a couple of models for a friend's birthday. He once commented on wanting to be a private eye, so we got together and built him an office and a car: http://www.inpayne.com/models/tibbetsroom1.html http://www.inpayne.com/models/tibbetscar1.html (Yes, he's that messy in real life).
Wow, awesome work, if she's ever thinking about adding something then let her make a basement.. with you in it building models..
That's some amazing work! I must admit that I'm not exactly an authority on dollhouses, but is it common for the rooms of a dollhouse not to interconnect, by way of doors, hallways, stairways, etc.? I'm not criticizing your wife's work. I'm just wondering about the practice in general. Cool stuff!
