^ Hmm, by now I don't remember what the pace was like. I thought it was a better than average mystery, good enough that I plan to read the next one in the series.

Today I started Un Lun Dun by China Mieville on my kindle. I reading it as part of a group read on Library Thing.

I have also started listening to The Book Thief by Markus Zusak as I want to have 'read' it before I see the movie.

I finally got to start in on McDevitt's Starhawk, which is about Priscilla Hutchins at the start of her career. The terraforming of a planet is possibly going to cause mass extinctions and opponents are beginning to resort to terrorism to stop it.

At a charity auction I bought a Highlander paperback: Scimitar (signed by the author =) ) I'm half through the book and it's not bad at all. It ties in very tightly with the series but expands the episodes by explaining the background, the previous events and how they all are connected.

I picked up a couple of books here recently. The temp today with the wind chill never broke -15, so reading is a nice hobby.

I got a Star Wars novel and a murder mystery, both from authors I like.

Killing time until the series I'm really interested in involving a detective and his K9 partner prints out a new one.

-15 C or F? (both is highly unpleasant!)
The forecast says we'll get a really mean blizzard tonight. Am planning to bake cookies and then read something that fits the weather: A Christmas Carol in Prose =)

If you are interested in this sort of thing, this is an excellent read. It's not so much about man, but more on the evolution of the planet itself.

I finished Starhawk. I was thinking it was pretty nice. It was interesting to see Priscilla Hutchins as an inexperienced newbie, left out of the more interesting storyline in favor of her seasoned mentor. Then, suddenly, the storylines converged into quite a heartbreaking ending. McDevitt never fails to deliver a solid story.
