^ Agreed. We'll have to see what exactly this is. I don't think an announcement is imminent or anything and Rich will probably break it before DC does like it scooped the New 52 announcement lol.

There needs to be another Watchmen as much as there needs to be another Citizen Kane or Casablanca. Which is to say: not at all.

Watchmen was envisaged and works as a one-shot deal. Yes, Moore created a fascinating world and fully-rounded with histories and pasts. But we learned all we need to know about that history and that past in the story. Any spin-off, be it sequel or prequel seems superfluous and without Moore it seems pointless.

Meh. The Watchmen story was told - I just don't see any point in returning to it. It's sort of like the Babylon 5 or nuBSG spinoffs - they come off as weak and superfluous compared with the original, because the central story is already over.

That said, if fans want more, then more power to them. I just don't see myself spending any time with it.

My take on it is that I'll wait until this project is actually announced. This is pure speculation at this point and so far I've only seen this on Bleeding Cool. Until the details are fully announced and all the creative teams named I'll reserve judgement but I'm up for more Watchmen. I do understand how hardcore fans of the original feel though and doing any more kind of is pointless but DC has been all about sales lately even more so than usual and this will sell whatever it is.

I want there to be a Nite Owl/Rorscach prequel. (With cameos from Silk Spectre.)

I hate myself for wanting this.

But I think we can all agree that we need that inevitable crossover film, Citizen Casablanca.

    That'd be an awesome crossover.

    It basically writes itself!

You know, Orson Welles might just have been crazy enough to try it, too.

That's what the Xbox 360 game that tied in with the movie was -- Nite Owl and Rorschach in their early partnership.

Speaking of Watchmen sequels, prequels, and spin-offs, today's RIPT Apparel t-shirt is awesome -- "Hello Watchmen," in which Sanrio's beloved Hello Kitty mascot meets the Comedian. :)

A site called "Bleeding Cool" probably has a bit of a reputation to keep up. ;)

The Watchman was one of the most faithful movie adaptations of any kind that I've seen, and while I had several problems with it, and ideas why it wasn't a blockbuster repeat viewing of the movie has actually shown me it has "legs" and will probably wind up a classic. I'm skeptical about a sequel being any good, but of course, I would watch it.

This isn't about a movie sequel RAMA but prequels to the original graphic novel.

Not good if Kubert is writing.
