Deadline.com With all the reboots going on these days it's sort of refreshing to see that this will be a "Son of..." series rather than a reboot. I loved the first movie but the second was merely ok. If it ever goes to series I hope it's good.
They should get Jay Pharoah from SNL to play Foley's son. If they want him to adopt some of the mannerisms of Murphy, Pharoah does an amazing impression of him. If the want him to do all the voices and impressions Foley did in the movies, he would be perfect for that as well. Plus, he's got good comedic timing and delivery. http://jaypharoah.com/
Can't be any worse than the last movie and Ryan's involvement is certainly a good thing. Still, I don't envy whatever actor has to try to fill Eddie's shoes.
Ryan certainly is keeping busy. In addition to this and Last Resort, he's also working on a TNT pilot with Gregg Hurwitz.
The fuck. Not interested. At all. Would have been interested in Beverly Hills Cop 4 though, had it been as R-rated and gritty as the first two films.
Has any TV show / film series in the history of the world ever benefited from the the addition of a protagonist's son / daughter? Star Wars (Anakin > Luke) and Terminator (Sarah Connor > John Connor) don't count.
I can't think of any. Which is why I'm wondering why they keep sticking to that lame formula. It sucks every time.
What intrigues me the most about this is the fact that it will be "a light procedural." I was just reflecting on the fact that I'm so tired of cop shows, it will be nice to see one that is more focused on the characters, than the actual police work.
