Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch Maybe just trying to make the Cardassians seem unique to each other? And worst case, couldn't they just put a pale or white base coat on before the blue?
Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch Possibly. But I don't know squat about the makeup process, so I have no idea as to the whys and wherefores. Somebody who actually knows what processes are used could easily tell us how it works. You may be on to something, though, because I HAVE noticed Cardassians on occasion that have some of the features seen on the Trager crew, though blended with the more revised style. (Though in my own stories, I decided to actually assume different ethnic groups. There is no reason why there shouldn't be.)
no such Cardassian ethnic groups have been established. please delete all references. [/RichardArnold]
^ Uh, Nerys, if you're sniping at captcalhoun, he was making a joke regarding the revision habits of Richard Arnold, who was in charge of approving all Star Trek written fiction in the 1980s and through to 1991. That was a typical note of his, and captcalhoun was making a funny.
I know a little through some friends of mine... the masks are also mostly opaque, or so it seems, so skin colour isn't an issue so much as being able to act/emote through the mask, and matching overall colours... I'm pretty sure... Tho its a bit tricky I'm sure- take a good look around Jem'Hadar eyes and lips for example- A couple of times Remata'klan's top lip seems a bit off etc. Tiny problems, no big deal- just need good effects people.
yes, i made teh fenneh... hopefully someone liked it and it didn't give any of the older writers nightmares...
Okay, random thought that came to mind, for Vanguard: Harvey Keitel as Jetanian. Or am I just nuts...?
For some reason when I first started reading the Vanguard novels I heard a specific voice for Jetanien. At the time I couldn't think of whose voice it was, but I knew it was someone who had been in Star Trek. I just now realized that it was the voice of Rick Worthy (as the Xindi-Arboreal Jannar) that I was imagining.
Well, ever since I read this post by Christopher, I've imagined the late, great Roscoe Lee Browne as the voice of Jetanian.
Well, I came to a disturbing discovery. I was trying to draw Ranul Keru for some Titan comic pages I'm working on and he came out looking like a heftier Jamie Heynman from Mythbusters.
True. I did add the beard and balding buzzcut as per the pics of Andy Mangels' model for the character, but the resemblance was still bloody frightening. Then there's the image of Keru sitting in a swivel chair being led across the deck by a leashed targ and saying "mush" that I can't get outta my head....
How about this for Sonek Pran (A Singular Destiny): - Brent Spiner. Specifically, his Brackish Okun look from ID4.
