^Great quote. I really need to read that Vanguard Bible. I never read that SCE book. I should probably read that too.

I just noticed the header of your web page is the cover of "No Limits". Why that choice? Though I really loved your Kebron story and explaining his love of goldfish, I would think you would chose a picture from one of your books.

Actually, the art in the header on my website changes randomly on each page load. It selects from an array of 14 or 15 images. Most are from my own books. However, I was limited to images that cropped well at that aspect ratio, which made some of my cover art ill-suited to becoming part of the array.

I've just been informed that there's been a delay in shipping me my copy of Storming Heaven. Evidently they had a lot of orders. I hope it'll be sent my way soon.

^ Probably book one of the Destiny trilogy, though all three volumes have done very well over the last three years.

I ordered my copy through The Book Depository about a month ago, got it on the 27th March and finished it on Monday/Tuesday just gone. :p

I thought it was brilliant, most of what I would have to say has been said, although, I loved the Firefly/Serenity reference/shout out towards the end.

    *amused*

Is it wrong that Quinn kinda reminds me of Wolverine at times?

^ In what way? Tortured by lost loves? Drunken mess? Because he sure lacks the fighting ability and healing factor... ;)

    I think it's when:
Hernandez says "They'll even take the sky from me", a twist on a line from Firefly's opening theme.

Edit: Whoops, thats so long as we're still on the Destiny novel discussion up-page, if not then ignore.

^ Wrong series — that's the Destiny trilogy. We're talking about Storming Heaven, the last book in the Vanguard series.

Oh man..... I see this topic growing and growing, and my copy still hasn't arrived. :( I started reading Vanguard a year ago. I've actually read the series twice. And now I'm still waiting for the last book to arrive! I can't take it anymore!!! ;)

A lot of his personality and character. And I admit, when Quinn called T'Prynn Darlin'. *lol*

Well, that was mostly just Quinn channeling his inner Billy Bob Thornton. ;)

I'd like to echo the sentiments of pretty much everyone by saying WOW. That was a fitting ending to an incredible epic - one worthy of mainstream science fiction series from the likes of Weber, Niven, Hamilton, Bujold, etc.

In addition to the scenes previously mentioned, I also the nice foreshadowing of the Battle of Narendra III, with Gorkon telling Jetanien that when the Federation performs an act of honor no Klingon could ignore, there would be peace between them. I assume it was Narendra III since even Khitomer didn't solve all the problems.

I also liked the "It's the Enterprise" scenes. The one with the Klingons made me smile but the one aboard the Endeavor was even sweeter with Kirk arriving in literally the nick of time but not overshadowing the real heroes, the characters we've grown to love over the last seven years.

I voted outstanding and I hope that one day we will see another series of a similar caliber from the current pantheon of great writers.
