I've been out of the comics loop for awhile, but...what the hell happened to Superman's costume?

what the hell? I distinctly remember hearing he died a few months ago. This is the guy who's always on the Daily Show, right? I thought they did a tribute to him and everything?

Jim Lee tricked a bunch of people into thinking he was great designer.

No kidding. You just have to take one look at Gambit. Worst. Costume. Ever.

    On topic, that is awesome!

I always took Krypton to be pretty far away in a galactic or intergalactic scale. 27 light years is a bit close, though I suppose it does make sense in the context of the story. (Apparently this somewhat reworked Supes is 27 years old and wishes to observe a certain event.)

Well if it's 27 light years away and Superman is 27 years old...

Superman and Wonder Woman are an item now. Lois Lane has pretty much been made a background character. These kids in charge now have no clue, only that to them, changing things is the only way to make them "better." DC lost me way back with the first "Crisis On Infinite Earths" when they destroyed the original DC multiverse. I was a diehard Earth-2 fan. JSA, the original Superman and Batman, the All-Star Squadron, Infinity Inc. and so on.

I think the changes in Supes' costume also has something to do with the settlement that finally happened between DC and the estates of Siegel and Schuster.

But as far as Krypton's star, I don't think this one fits the bill. I (and others) long thought Betelgeuse may be the star of Krypton.

Remeber, in the original comics, the star didn't go nova, like the Christopher Reeve movies (and "Superman Returns") show but Krypton itself was destroyed from within.

So he's even two years younger now?

The late, great Dick Giordano of DC Comics (at one time, my comics art teacher) once said that Superman was "eternally 29"...

To be fair, the artwork in that panel isn't too great. But I'm not a fan of Superman's new suit either.

Tyson in the book will be very cool to see indeed!

Back in the day, 27 or 29 was 'older' than it is today, so to speak.
