Or, what about....I dunno he hasn't done anything major since Constantine and a Criminal Minds episode, but what about Galvin Rossdale from Bush?
This one strikes me as completely unnecessary, but whatever. I'll wait and see what the early reviews look like. I'm not willing to write something off just because it's a reboot/remake.
^ Me either. My gripe is mainly emotional. Brandon Lee DIED playing the role first time out. It's a movie about a murdered man who comes back from the dead to avenge his fiancee's and his own deaths. And the main actor, who was supposed to marry his own fiancee after shooting finished, is killed onset. Added to which, he's the son of a prematurely-deceased movie icon, who is still mourned. It's so perfectly poignant for the movie and character. The whole thing to me just screams 'Leave it alone!' But I guess that's not realistic.
This link says yes. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=76371 I'm not sure how credible Heat Vision is though.
The thing is, Eric Draven was a guitarist in a rock band. James O'Barr based his look on that of Robert Smith, while Brandon Lee adopted a sinewy Iggy Pop body look for the movie. Bradley Cooper doesn't look like a guitarist in an up and coming rock band. He looks like he might be in an AOR middle-of-the-road band at best. He's too old to be a struggling musician in an indie band. He looks yuppie-ish; if he's struggling, he's more like the guy who missed his chance at rock stardom and now plays in a covers band. Plus you don't really see too many bands who look like the sort of band in the original The Crow. So what will they do with Eric? Make him a rapper? That's not to say that they couldn't re-write the character to suit someone like Cooper, but it just seems to be totally removed from the original graphic novel and movie.
Maybe it will be Crazy Heart meets The Crow. Buy yeah I don't like Cooper for this. Would be a crazy vehicle for a Justin Beiber type though. Haha hear me out...Young lad discovered on the Internet, crazed tweener fan kills him, her folks are tied to the mob, little boy Eric Draven comes back by way of a black crow to exact revenge. Hilarity ensues!
Bump! The movie now has a writer, in the form of Alex Tse, of Watchmen fame. Cooper is still attached. http://www.moviehole.net/201142460-watchmen-scribe-redoing-the-crow
Brandon Lee was the one and only crow. Bradley Cooper is horribly miscast. Another Superman Returns / Green Lantern in the making I see.
Bradley Cooper drops out, possible replacements are Channing Tatum and Mark Wahlberg http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/bradley-cooper-exits-crow-as-223204
