The first proper trailer for Star Trek had the theme "Down With the Enterprise" by Two Steps From Hell (HERE) Fastforward to October 2012, and Two Steps From Hell have released Skyworld, featuring a track called "Starfleet" (thats one word, just as Trek spells it...) Coincidence? I can really picture this playing on a trailer while Cumberbatch walks through the ruins of London... [YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeFT3Fh6KFM[/YT]
As I said in the other thread, I love Two Steps From Hell and their music can make any trailer great. Starfleet really sounds like Trek trailer material. I hope it's used.
^I hope you don't mind me borrowing your comment for this thread! I thought it was potentially a big deal, and didn't want it lost under comments on a different subject.
Shit, that's an awesome tune, I can totally picture that playing while we see excessive lens flare and the Enterprise going for a swim. Just picture it, a shot of Kirk on the bridge saying "Mr Sulu, prepare to take the ship underwater. And Into Darkness." This this tune plays. So cool.
Like I said in the trailer thread, "Freedom Fighters" (from STXI trailer 2) has also been remixed: http://youtu.be/OVaRYuF3Hx4 I don't know if that means Paramount marketing will reuse it or not. . .(personally I'm hoping that they use "SkyWorld") but Paramount did buy exclusive rights to "Freedom Fighters" for Star Trek XI. ~FS
I had too much free time and made the video a bit STID themed http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLjhD3uHB5I
Eh... both the Freedom Fighters remix and Starfleet are pretty boring, although the FF remix sounds kinda Tron-ish to me. I totally wouldn't mind hearing Sinister Intent (the XCOM: Enemy Unknown/Dredd trailer music) used in part or in its entirety in a Trek trailer.
This one's available as a CD on Amazon - (other titles also available from Amazon, but not sure about availability in brick-and-mortar shops.) Also available for download at Amazon and on iTunes.
One album available via eMusic.com, Halloween. Two others via HMV Canada, whose names escape me at the moment...
