Possible resolutions: lose weight improve my English skilldom Improbable Resolutions: finish that book that never ends stop drinking coffee and caffeine product consumptions move the right click options of correct spellings away from the add to dictionary option to eliminate stupid mistakes.. Impossible Resolutions: turn down an option to run for the president make time and space more obvious to some people. implant all my medications in an in-body dispenser that delivers my meds perfectly always..
New Goals (I don't believe in resolutions) that I have. 1) Don't be angry all the time. Learn to relax when the going get's tough 2) Meet at least 10 new people this year and form at least 5 new contacts on my phone 3) Find a suitable full time job Might have more but that's it for now.
I have read over three different English 101 handbooks and still read more and more of these English "rules" finding the only real way to improve English is to ,, write more ., so I am going back IN captain for another bout with the simulated trek world rpg multiplayer writings @ starbase118.net wish me luck.. I know there is the creative writing section here but it is less multiplayer and the writing threads that are multiplayer are very undeveloped comparatively speaking .. no offense for this site i will still be here. just writing and reading sims at the other site, ahhh the dangling comma LOL, again, you do know I was baned from a philosophy site for poor English ;(
Resolved- I will Quit smoking for good, no looking back, no half measures, no returning Lose at least 30 pounds Smile more Laugh more Sell more craft stuff Excel in scholastic endeavors Fight my slovenly ways.
Same resolution since 1990: No more resolutions. Ever. No sense in making them if I don't keep them, right?
Possible (doesn't mean I'm going to follow through... just means that I could if I wanted to): Save money to buy a sweet green-screen rig + software and finally create that Trek fan series I've been dreaming about. Create that cardstock + fiberglass + aqua-resin Master Chief armor for under $100 that I saw on Backyard FX. Have Master Chief guest star on my theoretical Trek fan series. Improbable: Get those 26-pack abs that every guy dreams of having. Use up all of the minutes on my cell phone before they expire 23 days from now. Impossible: Not get angry at the stupidity of people at Wal-Mart. Not get tired of the stupidity of 90% of my family. Not angrily reply to stupid YouTube comments about Justin Bieber, the dislike bar, Justin Bieber + dislike bar, etc.
It wasn't exactly a New Year Resolution, but near the beginning of last year I decided to give up soda. I went from having one everyday to perhaps 10-15 sodas over the entire year. Started drinking green tea everyday. There are a lot of things that I'm trying to do. The problem has been consistency. Results come from consistent effort applied over a long period. I'm trying to exercise everyday, meditate everyday, write everyday. Perhaps my main goal is to finally make a genuine, legitimate effort at obtaining a relationship. I've made a lot of progress in that direction, just need to be more consistent in my efforts.
Possible: Loose a couple of pounds, Improbable: Lose 10-20 pounds, Impossible: Pull out of Afghanistan by 2014
I did the same thing. I still have a soda occasionally, but I drink Green Teas a lot and also the Vitamin Waters from Costco (Warehouse place, Sams Club is the same way). They're really good, especially the Mango.
Hope this doesn't count as thread necromancy, but how are you folks progressing on you resolutions? Any new ones worth sharing? Me I've taken steps that will lead to less stress in my life and I am a third of the way towards my weight loss goal. A new resolution is to ask a certain girl our for coffee/dinner.
I'm glad you resurrected it. I hadn't seen it, but I just adore the word "skilldom." I'm gonna start using that.
