But it really doesn't fit. Or else we end up having Moore and Dalton Bond being depressed about Lazenby Bond's wife's death, and Blofeld going after Moore Bond for something Connery Bond did to him which was probably done as revenge for Lazenby Bond's wife's death.

thankfully Daniel Craig's Bond is insulated from this madness due to the fact that his character was referred to as James Bond BEFORE getting 00 status.

 

Not every field agent under the cover identity James Bond is getting the 00 status.

And the dead wife is just the artificial background they created for that identity.

Well the hat and mask could have hidden his age, he could have used hair dye to prevent his hair from going gray. As for his horse Silver, he could have gotten another white horse and named it Silver when the original one got too old.

I think most settlers who traveled out West weren't interested in killing Indians, they were mostly afraid of them because they heard stories of them killing white people, some of those stories were undoubtedly true. Many indians were fighting to keep their land, but they weren't sparing white civilians, you see the indians just like the whites saw the other as a race instead of a person. Indians were seen as dangerous to white people, and white people were seen as threatening by indians, which made it easier for one to kill the other as they deemed it fighting a threat.

Another problem was that whites were agricultural while indians lived by hunting and gathering, its hard to do one activity while preserving the other, there are conflicts of land use.

 

All jokes aside the Daniel Craig films have been pretty much confirmed as a reboot of the series, that for some reason decided to keep Judi Dench. That or MI6 had enough budget cuts to get rid of the gadget department seeing as Q hasn't shown up once since the reboot with Casino Royal.

That's the point. It became too personal with one of the Bond agents. And then the Lazenby Bond retired, but they still wanted to get Blofeld. So they integrated the dead wife story into the background of the cover identity that is James Bond.

It all makes sense. Trust me.
