I have trouble making eye contact sometimes so I rarely remember people the way I should. But, when it comes to TV and movies, I remember actors like you wouldn't believe. Voices, faces, the characters they played, etc. Not a problem. But people in real life? Not so much.
I am terribly bad with faces. Especially when I see somebody out of a familiar context. It was worst when I was at BMC-- I'd be so used to seeing somebody in scrubs or other hospital garb and then run into them at the supermarket or something and have no idea who they were. Next you'll be telling me that Denis Leary's "Traditional Irish Fok Song" is not a traditional Irish folk song.
A chinese friend of mine used to have the same problem. We made her a cardboard clock where the two handles were stuck together in a fixed angle. She would point the small one to the local time and the larger one would then point to the time in China. Maybe you could craft something like that too
