I'm kind of surprised that the show is giving us a 3-Dimensional take on King Henri, instead of the generic "Evil Amoral Lech" type he comes off as reasonable and human at other times.

I kept waiting for the second episode to do something cheesy. Besides the inappropriate soundtrack, that is. But it didn't. Much improved from the pilot, it was.

Pacing was choppy and they could have used more cheesy pop music...no music during certain scenes killed what was going on. I think next week looks great...

So the pilot was ok, the second ep was pretty good and this week's ep was great. The show is definitely improving.

This week's episode drove me around the bend. I didn't start screaming at my television, but it was close run thing.

It started out with potential, with England invading Scotland. But when the episode got down into the character bits of who's kissing whom and who wants to marry whom, I kept going, "No! No! NO!" And Tomas...

If it weren't twenty years too early, I'd say that Tomas is part of a Walsingham plot to bust up the Hiberno-French alliance. (The whole legitimation story sounds fishy to me.)

One historical note: Calais will be lost by England forever within the year. It will be Mary's uncle, Francis, the Duke of Guise, who will take the fortified town.

Loving the show. It is different enough from all the shows I am trying to watch currently.

I liked what The King did for Kenna...to be honest the relationship grossed me out a bit. Sebastian is wow...scary.

If you're fucking a child don't be surprised when she starts acting like a fucking child.

The actress may be over 20, but I'm assuming that the character is 14.

    (Wiki, wiki, wiki...)

Mary was born on December 8, 1542, and her stay in France is set in 1557.

That means that Mary is 14 for the first 11 months of 1557.

I'm sure someone in this thread can track down if she's 14 or 15 in the show, or eventually we are going to see her Birthday at French Court.

Mary would hang out with a peer, not some old crone.

    :)

I am proud to say that I had to google to know where that little jingle was from.

But I'm supposed to figure out by now, that your friend "squinty" is not going to fade away?

How about I give her another 6 months?

Private Practice was a painful experience.

At least some of them were tortured to death gruesomely.

    But not the right ones.
