STiD. It had more depth. Otherwise, they're pretty much the same.

2009. At least it come across as the entire galaxy being full of dumb, incompetent people.

They were both great! I'd have to go with ID though, the moral behind the story was much more...alive.

Can't say which is my fave yet. I do know I saw STID in theaters twice. Didn't get the chance with 2009.

Loved both of them, but STID trumps it for me.

I have only watched Into Darkness once compared to the multitude of times I have watched Star Trek so I can't make a fair assessment until the Blu-ray/DVD is out.

However, I will say I strongly suspect Into Darkness to come out on top. It had stronger characterization and a more profound, deeper story. 2009, ultimately, was a Spock movie, but STiD gave a lot of depth to Kirk as well, which I felt was sorely needed.

2009 had me emotionally involved from the first few minutes and didn't let go.

Both are amazing, but Into Darkness wins in my book.

Into Darkness is my favorite of the two, though I greatly enjoy both. I have Into Darkness ranked #4 of all the Trek films, 2009 is #6.

    2009.

I enjoyed both, but 2009 held such excitement for me as the characters I loved were re-introduced to the movie audience.

I'm not sure. I've only seen STiD once while I've seen the 2009 movie at least so I need to watch STid again before I make a final decision. My gut feeling is that STiD will come out on top.
