Kind of surprised...looking at the thumbs down to thumbs up ratio of the videos, it's not looking good. RAMA
I for one am excited for this game. With the cast doing the voices it will probably be up there with 25th Anniversary, Judgement Rites and A Final Unity.
Because most of them are crap, even when they shouldn't be (Game of Thrones being the most recent example). The fact that this is "let's tell an original Star Trek story" rather than "let's adapt the new movie" is going to help, though. Ignoring the Lego games, the last good adaptation was probably, what, Return of the King on the last generation?
A lot of the comments on the videos boil down to the "STAR TREK DOESN'T HAVE ACTION!" or "THIS IS JUST CALL OF DUTY LOLZ!!1" bullspit. Don't buy too much into it.
People posting in the comments sections are saying negative things about something? Stop the presses. I'll reserve judgement until the game is released.
I've no idea! Afraid that came straight from the official press release to give us time to prep our full article. Oh, and we'll have some exclusive gameplay footage and a full report of what we thought about the game when we tried it out in London this week. Probably tomorrow - I'll post the link when it's up
New screenshots here. http://www.otlgaming.com/post/44310268073/new-star-trek-the-game-screens-namco-bandai-and I love that closeup of spock inside the ship.
My fingers are crossed very tightly for this game, but i am going to wait till its actually out, the money i just wasted on Aliens:CM and the broken Borderland 2, both pre ordered, have left a sore taste for all pre orders now which i suppose is a good thing in the long run. Lets hope this game can get the gaming franchise fired up again.
What was broken about Borderlands 2? It seemed fine to me... Besides: using two bad apples from one developer isn't exactly good reason to write off an entirely different developer.
I reached a certain part of a mission and that was it, could not complete it due to game killing bug and there was no way to redo it at the time. Then i could not get the DLC i had payed for, simply would not work. I am to blame though, pre-ordered the game, pre-ordered and bought the season pass, then went and did the whole thing for A:CM. But lesson learned at last, now i will wait till the game is out before i drop cash, not writting off anybody, but my days of blindly buying before launch are now gone. Back to the old fashioned way for me, wait for game to come out, see the reviews, and buy and support if good.
OK guys - awesome new article at TrekCore: Preliminary review, full report from the press event last week, Brian Miller (Paramount exec) interview and an exclusive video of gameplay! http://trekcore.com/blog/2013/03/review-star-trek-game-a-first-look/ Enjoy!
Fantastic interview, Miller seems to understand that the Trek gaming franchise really needs to get back to the golden years of Trek gaming with quailty games. I hope and pray this game is the first of many, if it can come up to the standard's and dare i say even pass, Elite force, Bridge commander, The adventure games, then i think we just might see the gaming franchise become popular again just as the reboot did for the movie franchise. Fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed.
From what I understand, it's PC download only. The delivery platform (Steam, etc...) and DRM will be major factors in making my pre-order choice.
Yes, that's why I haven't hit the pre-order button just yet. Presumably the PC DVD version will work anywhere but then again Steam (if it's on there) has been known for stopping you playing your games outside their region.
