Why would that be so? I can't think of any central figures of human religious that are required to perform based upon rigid codes. Moses is commanded by G-d, not the priesthood. Jesus argues directly with the priesthood. If anything, they are granted or win leeway for themselves. Their lives are far from orchestrated in terms of what they must do and say.
For one thing Jesus is supposed to be god himself. If god can't do whatever he wants without restrictions then who can?
