    It looks to be a test tube about half full of blood, and it's so hot, it's steaming. It's blood fever: plak tow.

    (I suppose the blood should be green.)

    ...Although Spock's lips aren't green, in which case any "heart"-shaped parts of the female anatomy would probably be reddish as well.
