Yes, bring the campaign to end the show to a different place than here, please. On another note, Lis Sladen as Hero in Much Ado about Nothing
The thing is, I don't see how it could be done. Ten pretty much said in 'Wedding' that she has a brignt future ahead, and honestly I couldn't see Rani and Clyde packing up and leaving without something truely dire occurring (swept away by a time storm or something). So my earlier comment still stands. Just let Sarah carry on in our hearts and our fanfic.
It's always sad when someone we know or feel we know dies, sixty-three though, although pretty young by some standards is a good innings and it seems, just from her Who career that she led a long and worthwhile life. Talking from personal experience, my Grandfather was fifty-nine when he died of a annarisium and my step-father died last summer aged forty-four from a long, painful battle with Cancer so like so many others, I know what it's like to lose someone like this. So my heart is with the family and loved ones, the ones who will feel her loss the most and those who will miss her the most.
And four years older than my Grandad and nineteen years older than my stepdad. Death it seems isn't ageist.
It'll be awful when the parents have to break this news to their kids. I wonder if Doctor Who Adventures (The UK kids' magazine) will mention it. They should, considering that SJA is a big part of it.
Tom Baker has just posted his thoughts and feelings on his website. http://www.tom-baker.co.uk/pages/content/index.asp?PageID=159
Tom mentions he'd just agreed to do 6 audios with Lis - what a shame we'll never get to hear them together again.
Oh, god. Just heard about this, and it was a big shock. So soon after Nick Courtney as well, but this is far more unexpected. RIP Lis. You will be missed.
Nick Briggs makes reference to this in his tribute at the Big Finish site as well (not in that detail but he does acknowledge the discussions, and apparently his last conversation with her was her requesting they be delayed). They would have been wonderful to hear. Alex
He's supposed to be recording his first one with Louise this Friday. I'm not sure he's a man for regrets, but I'm sure if he enjoys it the thought will occur to him, if only he'd said yes a year earlier...
Tom Baker's website is very slow, I'd imagine it's being swamped. I still can't get over the truly amazing reaction. It's STILL trending on twitter.
talking of, is this your K9 http://twitpic.com/4mxf4d I seem to recall it having a monkey co-star. found it on twitter.
Thank you for sharing this. A lovely tribute to Lis Sladen and I'm thrilled that he included those photos, especially the one of him, Lis and Ian Marter singing.
