It seems like most of the series hd one crew member aboard that was always unlucky in love (ie Harry Kim, Geordi LaForge, Mr. Scott, etc). Whom do you say was the most unlucky?
Kim. He's like a black hole of sexuality, sucking it from the room wherever he goes. Not only does he screw up his own attempts in the most facepalmingly ways, but he unwittingly sabotages everyone else.
Kim gets it on with Seven of Nine at one point, doesn't he? Sulu was unlucky in screentime, but for all we know he could have been hip-deep in nookie in his off-hours. The character we know for certain that isn't true of is my pick, the TNG universe's designated nebbish Lt. Barclay. Who is introduced on the show by having this fact of his private life humiliatingly exposed by the senior staff.
Well, obviously, whoever falls in love with Travis Mayweather, because they're going to have to keep reminding everyone that he even exists, kind of.
Yes. They are stranded on a planet together and Kim tells 7 a charming story about warriors and loyal ants and she swoons into his arms.
It depends what you mean by unluckiest in love. If you mean useless or unfortunate. If you mean unfortunate its Kirk. Just about every girl he was interested in well died. If its totally hopeless: TOS - Scott TNG - Barclay DS9 - ? VOY - EMH - I just think Kim has had some successes ENT - Reed
Got it. No it is. (He gets a chance but turns it down, I think I remember now.) Screwing up a shot with Seven of Nine does admittedly make him a contender for top spot. But I'm still going with Barclay.
Deanna has a subconscious crush on Barclay. One day she'll wake up, leave a 'good bye sucker' note for Riker, and be off with the mad nerd.
That was rather excruciating to watch. And what was she missing that those other blondes Zarabeth and Leila had anyway?! Oh right, sci fi woowoo. I would like to subscribe to this newsletter.
Probably Harry Kim I never really understood why Geordi had so many problems with the ladies, he's a very attractive man
It has to be Geordi. So hopeless IRL he fell in love with a hologram, and then let the real Leia find out about it.
Well to be fair, having one character who is unlikey in love, is a more or less standard TV trope. Pick one character (and for best effect usually the one closest to nice guy/gal in character) and ensure that they have all the bad luck when it comes to love. Have love interest murdered. Love interest turns out to be the main bad Love interest is an alien Love interest dies of medical condition(s) etc...
When Scotty got the odd love interest of the week, he temporarily transformed into possibly the most pathetic character in Trek....But it was with Geordi that the "unlucky in love" thing became a recognized character trait on a regular. I can't count Chapel because pining over Spock was practically her whole reason for existing.
