BIG SPOILERS!! . . . . . . This clip has got me fired up for the episode: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFKZ-aBbu_s
You'd think the humans would be more scared of the Cybermen after the events of "Army of Ghosts/Doomsday". Maybe though that story got erased by the crack or something? Does she say "give birth" or " get Burned?"
I noticed that too. The Doctor is frantically screaming and waving people away but all we see are people moving about like a normal day. I do think Missy appears wonderfully evil in that clip. She seems to have an almost a female Master quality to her.
Also notable is that Army of Ghosts also had the "Cybermen are dead people" trick, although in a different sense.
It's interesting that the Cybermen first invaded earth as "ghosts", and now as zombies (apparently). Edit: beaten to the punch
The Cybermen still have the same musical theme they've had since Rise of the Cybermen/Age of Steele? I'm not really complaining, it's a great tune. But still, when Moffat took over there was a great purge of music from the RTD era, the Doctor's various themes were replaced, the Daleks got a new theme, and yet somehow the Cybermen theme stayed. And even now with the transition from Smith to Capaldi, I am the Doctor has been removed from the show proper (though still used in some trailers) and replaced with another new Doctor theme, and still the Cybermen keep the same theme they've had since 2006. Does everyone just love that specific piece of music that much, or is there nothing else that says "Cybermen" more than that?
If I saw a bunch of people marching out of a building dressed like robots, I'd probably just think it was a flash mob or an internet prank. They'd have to get fairly close to me before I realized, "Oh, shit, these are really robots!". So I can actually believe their reactions.
Bizarre editing. The Cybermen can't be seen in any of the Doctor's shots, so are they emerging from round the corner? Would explain the lack of reaction by the humans. The Doctor turns and looks as if he can see them. She sounded more like Kate O'Mara than anyone else. Should be good ep. Bring on Sunday night (for me).
Missy says that the "grays" will burned. Are the grays a reference to the Cybermen? Or, is that a reference to the living?
A couple of pics from the episode have been released a while ago and they show people taking pictures of themselves with Cybermen (I'd totally do that, too ). So there seems to be an "Army of Ghosts" vibe to the episode.
Great clip. I'm really excited for this episode tomorrow. I hope all the Missy teasers this season leads to something big.
I'm saying the cybermen have Dark Water infused in them. Calcium is an earth metal--so the skeletons should have been invisible too. Maybe the cybermen are invisible. More folks are alive now than have ever died, or so I heard once. Maybe the Doctor could only see the cybermen because he is in the memory bank. He races outside the church--the master's tardis--and no one else can see them psychic paper on a grand scale...
Which is stranger still since their BBC-America channel carries the show for the US market- I think it is a general police with nobody thinking about the ramifications...
