Don't forget, the stolen centrifuge was a "Kord Industries" model. They showed the name plate later in the show. Someone has been doing their homework....and I approve. Vf
Like stated, neither is technically correct but there seems to be a constant disparity between animation and live action. The DCAU and films pronounced it as Raysh, while Nolan's movies and now Arrow pronounce it as Razz.
No, it's referred to the DCU pretty extensively right from the beginning. I'd say roughly half of the first season episodes focused on a recognizable villain, hero (other than Ollie obviously), or peripheral character, and that has seemed to increase with the second season.
This has nothing to do with being a comic book nerd for me, it just bugs when people constantly mispronunce stuff like this on TV shows and in movies. IMO it shouldn't be that hard to find out how to pronounce something when you have all of the resources of a TV/movie production behind you.
Yeah, I just tuned in for the presumptive Scarlet Speedster. I was pretty lost with all the characters, but I did take note of Brother Blood and Deathstroke, and figured out who the Speedy character was. Didn't catch who was supposed to be the Canary, though.
So, Barry's debut was lame. He's actually more generic than I imagined, and his age really makes it worse. He could be on any CW TV show. Plus, we got to see more of the moron with the little girl's name (aka Sin), even though BC is gone. I'm hoping she's a shock death during the season finale. The only positive thing about this episode was that I finally figured out that Malcolm merlyn is played by the same actor who played Captain Jack on Doctor Who, which is pretty cool.
I gotta say that Oliver and Felicity's reaction to Barry's big story was weirdly passive. Even given all the crap they've seen (especially Oliver, and even accounting for his having encountered Mirakulu before), it sounded really dumb, more likely a psychological coping mechanism than a true account of the incident. And maybe that's what Oliver in fact assumed, and just decided he didn't have time to sort out some dude's traumatic invented memories at that moment, and I hope they do go that way, because otherwise the gradual incorporation of powers and s*** has been very smooth and well-done.
Of course, because there's only one way to pronounce a name. Are you american? I hope you pronounce Berlin "Bear-leen" and not "Burr-linn" because the latter is wrong, and Munich? That's not even spelled right and the way it is pronounced has nothing in common with the cities proper name except that it starts with an M. If you insist on pronouncing a made up name correctly you should put extra effort into real life names.
Bill Adama in Dexter. Caligula in heroes. Brad Pitt in Fight Club. I think he killed that chauffeur, or maybe she just remembers Malcolm killing him, but are we sure that he's really real and not some psychotic break fantasy?
I actually had a similar thought when Malcom reappeared. Of course, that would mean that Miora killed the chauffeur.
Or she drove her self, or she was never there at all. Killing one chauffeur is easy, but Malcolm claimed he took out all her security at Queen Manor. If Moira can beat up 12 armed thugs, then there's no reason she can't be a costumed vigilante herself at some point. Obviously not on nightly patrol, because she's sooo old, but if someone kidnapped Thea or Oliver, it might be a possibility.
You realize that you just proved the point, right? You can and do mispronounce names. Just because you do, it doesn't mean you're not mispronouncing them. That's kind of what the word "mispronounce" means.
Kord industries was mentioned last year. The Beetle armour on Smallville sucked so hard. Lets just have Ted in spandex this time, please.
Yeah. I loved Blue Beetle in the 80s. Bring on Ted Kord as BB. On topic, I watched the episode last night an thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the actor they got for Barry Allen and really enjoyed the nod to the Flash's origin with the chemicals and lightening storm. I'm looking forward to seeing what they can do with The Flash pilot.
