Eh personal taste is personal taste. Most people find their definition of hot or attractive ages with them. For those whose definition remains fixed at adolescence, well as someone said there's a name for that.

That's what it used to say on google under Trek BBS Star Trek Movies XI+ before they changed the google listing. The actual phrase used was "likeminded."

We are likeminded. We all like Star Trek. We just like different bits of it more.

So if you had to choose-which single VOYager episode is your favorite, and why?

Timeless is my favorite VOY ep. It just pushes all my buttons in a very nice way :)

I only have a favorite VOY ep and and a favorite ENT ep,the others I've never been able to narrow it down.

Think I've seen Timeless. The one with Harry going back in time to save the crew? And wasn't Levar Burton guest starring as a future timeline Captain Geordie La Forge chasing Harry across space?

Yep Geordi was in it. I love time travel episodes and this one was very dramatic. Older Kim is definitely an improvement on younger Kim. The Doctor is great in this one too.

and for those who like to comfort themselves as they grow older that they look just as good as they did when they were in their twenties, there's a name for that, too...

It's not a matter of "just as good" it's that you look different. There are different kinds of sexy, hot, beautiful, erotic and youth is just one of those kinds.

but I disagree-we were talking physical attractiveness, like of actresses or actors. If we were talking what one looks for in a relationship, obviously age can have its advantages, like with wisdom, experience, etc. And of course fifty-year-olds can rarely date twenty-year-olds unless they're very rich or very famous, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't WANT to if they had the chance.

To me, "sexy" and "hot" refer to physical attractiveness. I mean, if your subjective preference is older people, that's your preference.

Again, we're not talking long-term relationships here, just looks.

"outgrowing the vanity of youth" would mean they didn't concern themselves so much with looks, not that they'd be in denial ABOUT their looks.

But looks are personal taste too. What about all those nudes by Rubens etc.. which were of beautiful women of the time? They would be called fat today by Hollywood standards.

very true. Funny how cultural standards work-The stick-figure look of today would have been seen as a sign of poverty or poor health not too long ago. It's so out of whack that when you see an actress who is the normal size for her height she's regarded as "fat."
