They're one of the classic series' scariest and most memorable monsters, so yes.

Yeah, a couple of episodes in the 70s and they've been away all this time.

And the new costumes haven;t messed up the old design.
Lis Sladen had said they were the ones she most wanted back for SJA ("They were the only monsters that looked good from the back as well") but knew she wouldn't get them till after Doctor Who had paid to build the new costumes...

PS: Havign said that, they are a bit boring aside from the great design, just an amalgam of several obvious Who tropes: warlike aliens+shapeshift and replace humans+own planet destroyed and need another one+origin of a great Earth legend. So basicalkly, the sort of enemy the Doctor knocks off when he wants a quiet afternoon, and likely to only be the catspaw for the real villain.

That's why it's exciting? We saw Ten and Rose a few years ago, this is more of an event.

Apparently Catheine Tate was at the Table Read yesterday (but Billie Piper wasn't). However, she is shooting a series with David Walliams at the moment so couls just have been there to say Hello.

Wow, forgot how drab-looking Tennant's old Tardis was. The Zygons look pretty cool though. Be curious to see if they're the main villain, or just one of several...

If true, hopefully it could mean Nine + Rose, and Ten + Donna. We can always dream...

And speaking of dreaming... C'mooooon, Paul!

They are a great design and the shapeshifting made for some very tense moments but the Zygons back story is pretty much Who at its most generic. Once they were in Zygon form they were just your average Who ranting alien baddies.

That said I'm glad to see them back - nice to have something different for once. I presume this is the reason Terror's dvd release has been pushed back to later in the year.

Yes - Donna back would be fantastic, expecially if it means Rose is paired with Nine rather than Ten.

And I'd love McGann back as well.

Reading up on the classic villain

So, anyone want to bet which returning actor won't be portraying the real deal?

Rose Tyler? Billie could play a Zygon impersonating Rose Tyler.

10th doctor? I'm sure fans would lash out at a fake doctor for the 50th anniversary.

Seeing how faithful they've been with the Zygons (and the Ice Warriors) just makes me more annoyed over what they did to the Silurians.

I loved Donna at the time, but I don't really want her back for the special. Her loud personality would probably overshadow all the other companions too much.

Oh... wodner how the body printing works with a TIme Lord? If they had one Doctor as a base, could they imitate his earlier incarnations? Or would the body print be maybe slightly downgraded, not quite accurate? ;)
