Just finished Voy: Homecoming and The Farther Shore. The writing style wasn't the best, but overall this felt like a proper finale to the series. I almost wish it was the real finale, except Data probably plays too big a role for the TV (and we wouldn't want a TNG star stealing a finale now, would we......)
Got Seekers 1 in the mail & decided it was about time I read Vanguard. So I'm reading Harbinger. There's an awful lot of characters introduced in the first few chapters, but I'm mostly managing to keep them straight.
I finished The Walking Dead, Volume 4: The Heart's Desire. I'm currently reading Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Light Fantastic by Jeffrey Lang.
Currently reading Shatner's Personal Account of the making of Star Trek V and Howard Weinstein's Covenant of the Crown. This year, I've read several non-fiction Trek books: 1) Star Trek Creator by David Alexander 2) Gene Roddenberry The Myth and the Man by Joel Engel 3) Gene Roddenberry The Last Conversation by Yvonne Fern 4) Inside Trek by Susan Sackett 5) Inside Star Trek by Solow & Justman 6) View From the Bridge, Nick Meyer's autobiography 7) Chekov's Enterprise by Walter Koenig 8) I Am Not Spock 9) I Am Spock 10) The Longest Trek (Grace Lee Whitney autobiography) 11) The Making of Star Trek by Stephen Whitfield 12) The Making of Star Trek The Motion Picture by Susan Sackett 13) The Making of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan by Allan Asherman
I'm attempting to make my way, chronologically as best I can, through the Trek-lit verse thanks to going by some of the chronology pages I've found through BBS & other places. A mammoth task but I'm going to try. I've read a few Strange New Worlds & one New Voyages piece, and I just finished ENT: By the Book which was a simple but enjoyable read. Now I'm moving on to ENT: What Price Honor? Wish me luck on this one!
Maybe you want to discuss By the Book in the Review Thread from a few months ago? http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=235054
You can find most review threads with polls here: http://www.eikehein.com/stuff/trekbbs/review_threads/ (The thread for By The Book is relatively recent since I post one thread a week for older books to fill up that ranking list. As you can see in the link above there's one for What Price Honor as well. )
I've just started reading Deparment of Temporal Investigations: Watching the Clock, actually the first time since I was a teenager I've read a Star Trek book, I'm liking it so far.
Just got back from Comic Con, where I was able to pick up New Visions - The Mirror Cracked; the lame comic book stores near me don't carry it. Anyway, it went to the top of the reading list. It was pretty good, not great, but very good - I like John Byrnes' work in these photocomics. ME
