Scotty, you're gonna love it here - not only does Enterprise have plenty of power on tap, she's got a whole brewery below decks! "I like this ship!!" And thus began the new history of Star Trek, as J.J. Abrams's Enterprise appears to be powered by Clydesdales. So this month, Ensign Ro-'s drinking game involves redesigning Engineering to something that has more in common with dilithium and less with distillation. Where that shaky camera work is from high warp, not happy hour. Check out this month's batch of non-alcoholic concoctions, cast your vote, and don't forget to tip your servers (Intel inside!®)! =============== Finn -------------------- Klaus -------------------- Ptrope -------------------- Winston Smith
What can I say? I had to vote for Winston Smith - that image of Engineering is gorgeous! He really captured the color palette and the lighting of AbramsTrek, while tying it strongly to Matt Jefferies's iconic design for Engineering. Clearly, no brewery was needed - this looks like it belongs in that starship! I also like Finn's and Klaus's entries - Finn created a very modern, architectural style that definitely deserves to be fleshed out and realized, and Klaus communicated the sheer size and gloss of the new 'prise (which also sets my vertigo off pretty badly! ), and even included J.J.'s signature lens flares .
^ thanks for your kind words Too bad GalacticWierdo didn't get his entry in. I liked it. Oh well I went with Winston Smith
Yes, thanks for the praise... I wish I'd had more time this month. ...this might be a sweep, and a well-deserved one.
Who voted for Klaus or Ptrope? They ought to be taken out back and beaten for voting against that holy entry of Winston Smith's and taking away a sweep from him. You are lucky you didn't vote for me.
Wow, thanks guys! I really enjoyed everybody's entries this month, and I really hope everybody had as much fun making and looking at them as I did! The wonderful praise is just an added bonus, but still, I really appreciate it! thanks again! Now, crap, I have to think of an idea for this month's challenge!
Congratulations, Winston Smith! You brewed up the best non-alcoholic Engineering for the JJPrise, by a landslide! We knew you'd be tough to beat - that was just an inspired piece of set design .
