Source of one of the best lines in the entire series if not the franchise:
"An individual's rights are only protected as long as they agree with the views of the state. Nothing could be more dangerous to a society."
Very appropriate at the current time.

TOS "The Paradise Syndrome" on MeTV earlier tonight.
From the very first time I saw this as a child to tonight. The very last shot of Kirk and Miramanee. SHE"S STILL MOVING! After dying in the previous shot.
Plus it always bothered me that she was his wife and pregnant with his child when she died. And she's never mentioned again, ever!

I'm a on a very slow ENT rewatch at the moment,

Broken Bow - I find this gets more average the more I watch it over time. It's just not very exciting, and the decon scene is laughable.
Fight or Flight - I always thought this was a nicely little Hoshi story, if nothing groundbreaking plot-wise.

My son and I are also doing a complete run through of Enterprise, having finished TNG and VOY.

The Hirogen were probably the most interesting alien species to come out of Voyager.

Yep, I just finish to watch it too.

    1) why they (the filming crew) can not re-recorded that scene where Kirk is full of insects on his face???

    2) If Spock want to change the course of the asteroid, why do it front of it?? They can not push it aside? so they have needed much more less energy to save the planet.

    Just sayin'...

I also wanted to add that the Enterprise seemed really under powered in this episode. I know they said the asteroid is as big as Earth's Moon. But hitting it with full phasers and full power to the Main Deflector would have done something.
Plus having to travel at high warp to reach the deflection point would mean that the asteroid, a natural object, would take years to reach the planet. The writers seemed to have no concept of the basic physics of time, distance and speed.
And about the Indians. For such a peaceful and tranquil tribe with no apparent enemies. They sure did have a over abundance of handy throwing sized rocks available. One guy literally had an armfull.

    Sunday's episodes watched:
VOY "Investigations" and VOY "Dead Lock"
First one not bad . Second one ...not so much.
At the end of "Investigations" how did the damage to the warp coils suddenly disappear? They go cruising off into the credits at warp. WTF?

Only saw it once first run years ago. It's worse than I remembered.

ENT : the one where Phlox tries to get more info from the Vulcans on T'Pol's mind meld disease. While his wife hits on Trip. Vastly better than "Tuvix". Of course any screensaver from the 90s is better than "Tuvix".

    STAR TREK: The Next Generation
    "Imaginary Friend"

Ensign Daniel Sutter's daughter Clara's got an imaginary friend who comes to life, as embodied by an entity, with the purpose of acting as a scout for more aliens to follow.

Sometimes, STAR TREK misses good story opportunities, in favour of pursuing a half-baked, gimmicky idea. Daniel's narrative of being a single father, dealing with a new assignment and his daughter's seeming inability to adjust to it easily is far more interesting than the show's focus.

Probably an apt one for Halloween - zombie Vulcans galore!
