Naturally I'd say: NO! Janeway doesn't need scars to be sexy! But I do agree. It suits her. Lots of fanfic is usually about having her injured in one way or the other - to make her vulnerable and set an inviting frame for certain interactions with certain crew members. An attempt to peel the captain off the woman. To cite teacake here: "She can be tightly wound. Control, she's her hardest taskmaster. I suppose that's part of the appeal, unwinding her.." Speaking of appeal: I always found the idea of two Janeways highly interesting. There is even fanfic about it. (Although I was a bit disappointed, when I read that story.)
Well that's a costume question to ask her at a con someday, and one that hasn't been asked a thousand times before.
I was also wondering whether those coloured pictures are made-up or do they resemble the real colouring.
That's a good question Bird..they do look like they've been colorized. I have Queen Arachnia as my phone backdrop.
found it: "[...] the dress itself is black, and the beadwork was copper, not red [...]" I am a little disappointed. And grateful that they kept it black and white, that was so much better.
(the description from Christie's auction listing: A black gown covered with copper beadwork, sequins and elaborate black metallic bead trim; a high beaded plastic collar piece, black shoes with sequins, feathered shoulder pieces, and other accessories with corresponding costume and makeup notes -- worn by Kate Mulgrew as Captain Janeway playing Queen Arachnia, "The Bride of Chaotica" in the Captain Proton holodeck simulation.)
It didn't matter what color anything was if they were going to B and W it all.. but I guess that does add some confusion if you bought it at an auction and wanted to actually wear the prop. Oh I read your post, it WAS auctioned!! How much did it go for?
