    TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

The sequel to 2007's Transformers is finally here. Old Autobots join new ones in the battle against the evil Decepticons. This one promises to be bigger, badder and Megan Foxer.

The movie opens in the U.K. on June 19th and at least one of our members has seen it.

One of the biggest surprises for me is seeing Jetfire.

They made him an old bearded guy with a cane. I actually like it.

I can't wait for it...will be seeing it the opening weekend not opening day. Should be awesome. I will be starting reading the novel over the next couple of days in preparation for the film.

So is that what Prime is going to look like in the new movie? :p

Also, does this movie really need to be 2.5 hours long???

It was only one review I've read, but boy, it was a really bad one. And it was from a site that really liked the first film.

150 mins is far too long in my opinion. The first one dragged in sections and that was about 2 hours 15.

And Jetfire looks far too much like a cross between Predator and the ED-209 from Robocop. Eugh. :( What happened to original design?

As much as I enjoyed the first one, it definitely got a bit mind-numbing towards the end with all the nonstop chaos and action. I can't imagine how much worse that's gonna be with the greater length. Not to mention all the extra robots filling the screen...

    Jeez, talk about sensory overload.

Can't be any worse than T4. I hope this one is as funny as the first one. I really loved Shia's parents. Also hope there's more Prime in this one. I love me some Optimus.

Sadly no John Voight or the much missed Bernie Mac in this one either. :(

I found the first film much more watchable on Blu-ray than DVD because of the increased clarity of the image. It helped decrease the sensory overload a bit.

Bernie Mac was in the first one? I don't even remember that. Then again, considering the paper-thin characterization (a Michael Bay trademark if there ever was one), it's not too surprising that I don't really remember anyone in that film, except for Shia LaBeouf (since he's the lead protagonist) and Megan Fox (for mostly superficial reasons :p).

Well, whatever... I don't really want to be a basher, so here's hoping the sequel is an improvement.

Opens on the 24th here...taking my son right after school!

I didn't see the first one in the theaters 2 years ago. Won't make that mistake again, Bay showed that you can make an entertaining flick out of giant robots trashing the place.

I didn´t either and was very surprised how good the first one was considering the cartoon sucked.

So I will be there too.

That´s one major reason why Transformers will be the biggest movie of the year: lots of new people that saw the first one on dvd will show up.

Judy Witwicky: Look at this place! I feel smarter already! Can you smell that?
Ron Witwicky: Yeah, it's the smell of $40,000 a year...

    Sounds like my parents...

And here's what he's supposed to look like in the movie. From what little I've seen, he comes off as kind of ape-like.

Wow, seeing that size scale makes me wonder what will happen if they ever bring Metroplex or Trypticon into this.
