Fan created design from the StarFleet Museum website that has a full deckplan.

I made a basic 3D model of this using Anim8or (freeware).

It isn't done yet, as there is nothing in the neck right now, no windows, and it needs the external paint as well.

I'm really reaching that cutaway view.

The cutaway was the point of this 3D model. I have every room right now.

I do have 1 or 2 rooms that are still empty, and I still need to add escape modules and the brig, but overall I am happy with it.

I've always loved the Asia class--or as it should be called, the prefit.

Well, it isn't exactly the Asia class that you see on the fansites of The Starfleet Museum or Ex Astris Scientia where it originates from.

I modified the design a bit to help myself out. The main thing I did was change the saucer to have only 1 main deck instead of 2 decks tall at the edge.

The reason was simply to give myself a break and simplify the 3D model. The other reason was simply that with the cutaway view without the hull you couldn't really see the lower of those two decks anyways, making all the work to create the deck sort of pointless.

It is a bit smaller than the original series Enterprise 1701, but it is still a decent sized ship in its own right.

I've always had a healthy dose of respect for the Asia class. But then again, I have always had a healthy dose of respect for most vessels in the Starfleet Museum and Bernd Schnieder's Shipyard.

Masao and Schnieder should see this. I think this would make their day.:)

Actually, those two guys already know about this.

I contacted them through e-mail a few months ago and have been keeping them up to date on the progress of my model.

I only work on it in my spare time when I get bored, so it has bee taking a while to finish.
